Welcome Dr. Ning Li!

Ning obtained her PhD from the Institute of Environmental Engineering of the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Zurich (ETH) on the topic "Uncertainty analysis for a distributed flow and transport model case study in Xinjiang" in 2013. Her proceeding master study in Hydrology and Water Resources she successfully completed at the China University of Geosciences (Beijing).

After her PhD, Ning continued working in the group of Prof. em. Dr. Wolfgang Kinzelbach at the ETH with the focus on real time systems. In this context she was the leading modeller in the Sino-Swiss groundwater project “Rehabilitation and management strategy for overpumped aquifers under a changing climate”.

Ning’s key skills are:

• Groundwater modelling and model calibration
• Real time groundwater modelling and data assimilation
• Optimization and real time control in water resources management
• Parameter uncertainty and predictive uncertainty of different management scenarios
