Welcome Dr. Pirmin Ebner!

Pirmin obtained his doctorate from the Department of Mechanical and Process Engineering at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Zurich (ETH) on the topic of "Tomography-based observation of heat and mass transfer in snow under advective conditions" in 2016. He also successfully completed his previous mechanical engineering studies at the ETH Zurich.

After his doctorate, Pirmin worked as a research assistant at the WSL Institute for Snow and Avalanche Research (SLF) in various research groups. Most recently he was involved in the PROSNOW project (www.prosnow.org) in the Winter Sports and Climate group.

Pirmin’s skills are:

• 3D CFD simulations (OpenFOAM, ANSYS)
• Heat and Mass Transfer, Reactive flow, Turbulent flow in porous media
• Code development (Python, FORTRAN, C(++), Matlab etc.)
• Machine learning and data science
